Chris Newman

As a young filmmaker Chris cut his teeth shooting professional surfers across the globe. He went on to earn a Masters degree in documentary from UC-Santa Cruz and has screened his award-winning doc work in festivals worldwide and nationally on PBS. After a stint living and filming in Peru, Chris returned to San Francisco to build his commercial reel as a director where he continues to work with global brands and agencies. His intention as a director is to create cinematic, heartfelt and honest connections between his subjects and the viewer. When he’s not directing you can find him surfing and photographing the rugged swells that frequent his San Francisco home.
