FUNCTION

Provides leadership, oversight, and direction to HQ staff and COMSUBPAC subordinate commands on all issues and concerns involving Equal Opportunity, Sexual Harassment, and Hazing.  Provides leadership, oversight, and direction to COMSUBPAC subordinate commands on policies and programs per existing regulations and policies to include the Informal Resolution program.

The “FIRST STEP” in making an Equal Opportunity complaint is to see your CMEO or EOA.

Informal Complaints Process

The Informal Resolution System (IRS) assists you in resolving conflicts, and when successful, the IRS is the timeliest method for resolving conflict, because it deals directly with the individuals involved and uses the immediate chain of command. There are 3 steps to filing an IRS. They are:

1. Direct Approach - Address the issue with the person.

2. Informal third Party - Request assistance from another person to shipmate. You may speak with the CMEO Officer, Command Master Chief, or your Chain of Command. You may also request Commanding Officer's Mast. If the complaint cannot be resolved with the above methods, susbmit a request in writing to speak with the commanding officer.

3. Request Training - Request representation of training materials to communicate appropriate behavior.
