USS San Francisco receives
Deck Seamanship Award

(NAVAL BASE POINT LOMA, CA) –Commander, Submarine Squadron 11, Capt. Brett Genoble, awarded USS San Francisco(SSN 711) with the squadron's 2009 Deck Seamanship Excellence Award Feb 10.
The boat's Deck Division Leading Petty Officer, Sonar Technician Submarine Petty Officer 2nd Class Brandon Ross, accepted the award from Capt. Genoble. Ross attributes the recognition to his shipmates' dedication, "A lot of the credit goes to the Deck Division Petty Officers, and the crew of San Francisco is grateful to get recognized for upholding standards of excellence," said Ross.
San Francisco's Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Nathan Martin said, "I am really proud of my guys -- having only been at Squadron 11 for a couple a months and receiving this award, shows a great promise in the future."
Chief of the Boat, Senior Chief Neil Bissonnette, is excited about his crew's success, "This is an awesome accomplishment. We have an energetic, hardworking crew. I hope this is the first of many awards to come."
