USS Olympia Receives Battle Efficiency Award

(PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii) – Capt. James Childs, Commander Submarine Squadron 3 (CSS-3), presents the 2011 CSS-3 Battle Efficiency (Battle “E”) award to Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Michael Boone, Chief of the Boat, Master Chief Machinist Mate (SS) Richard Salisbury and Executive Officer, Lcdr. Christopher Lindbergh of the Los Angeles-class submarine USS Olympia (SSN 717) at the submarine piers onboard Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Jan.13. The Battle “E” is an award of merit presented to the most proficient ship in each squadron and recognizes sustained superior technical performance and continual combat readiness throughout the year.
