The Marriage Dinner

Elena, a young Salvadoran woman, is forced to marry a man she does not love in order to remain in the United States with other members of her extended family. Jim, her new husband, is a naive, culturally assimilated Chicano who has accepted cash to help her out. At the dinner party after the "wedding", Jim's political awakening begins when he is confronted with the real reasons for Elena's desperate plight and the persecution faced by many in her homeland.
